Food for Life

Food for Life will give participants the opportunity to create a meal from start to finish. When teens arrive for the program, they will be given a budget and from there will work as a team to create a menu, research recipes, shop for ingredients (staying within their allowed budget), bring the selected recipes to life, enjoy a meal together and take part in cleaning up together. In the Spring the youth will also have the opportunity to grow their own produce in our greenhouse and garden.
Within this program youth will gain valuable skills in teamwork, healthy meal planning, experimenting with new recipes, budgeting, grocery shopping, cooking, safe food handling, proper food storing methods, cleaning and gardening.
Food for Life will begin in March 2024, and continue for 16 sessions completing in December.
Youth will register for sessions individually in our regular registration format. This program will fall under our regular $25 monthly membership.
Stay tuned for dates and times on our upcoming schedules.
